The canton of Totora is a municipality in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Cantón Totora is one of seven cantons in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) San Pedro de Totora in the province of San Pedro de Totora . It borders on the La Paz Department in the north, the Calazaya canton in the northwest , the Chojña Cota canton in the southwest, the Huacanapi canton in the south and southeast , and the Nor Carangas province in the east .

The canton stretches between about 17 ° 38 'and 17 ° 55' south latitude and 68 ° 00 'and 68 ° 15' west longitude, it measures up to 30 kilometers from north to south and up to 25 kilometers from west to east. The canton of Totora is located in the Bolivian highlands between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.
