The canton of Vienenburg existed from 1807 to 1813 in the Goslar district in the Oker department in the Kingdom of Westphalia and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. On January 1, 1810, Wiedelah and Wennerode from the canton of Horneburg in the Halberstadt district in the Saale department came on the basis of a decree of May 12, 1809.
