Wiedelah is a district of the district town of Goslar in the district of Goslar , Lower Saxony , Germany . The district has around 1400 inhabitants.
geography
The place is at the confluence of the Ecker in the Oker , east of the Harly forest in the immediate vicinity of the federal motorway A 36 . Beyond or to the west of the autobahn, Vienenburg is about two kilometers away.
history
Wiedelah was built as a moated castle between 1292 and 1297 . It replaced the approximately 2 km north-west location in 1291 by razing destroyed Harlyburg whose stones were used to build the Wasserburg. Here the location was just as suitable for controlling the trade routes from Goslar to Halberstadt and Goslar to Braunschweig .
Wiedelah was first mentioned in a document in 1312. In 1341 Wiedelah became the seat of an office in the local community . In the Thirty Years War , Wiedelah was conquered in 1626 by the general Wallenstein .
Incorporations
On July 1, 1972, Wiedelah was incorporated into the city of Vienenburg. On January 1, 2014, Vienenburg was incorporated into Goslar.
