The canton Wabern was an administrative unit in the Kassel district of the Fulda department in the Napoleonic kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was the place Wabern in today's Schwalm-Eder district . The canton comprised 13 villages and hamlets on the south bank of the Eder , was inhabited by 3,786 inhabitants and had an area of 1.60 square miles .
