Pulpit in Esnandes

The pulpit in the church of St-Martin in Esnandes , a French parish in the Charente-Maritime department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was created in 1775 by the cabinet maker Petrus Guillon. The wooden pulpit has been classified as a monument historique since 1973 .

It is almost unadorned, only the crowning of the sound cover with a vase is striking.

The inscription on the pulpit reads: “CETTE CHAIRE A ETE CONSTRUITE PAR LES SOINS DE MESSIRE LOUIS MAUDET, CURE D'ESNANDES DU TEMPS DE PIERRE RACAUD, PREMIER FABRIQUEUR ET JACQUES COUNIL, FABRIQUEUR. CE 20 MARS 1775 MFPETRUS GUILLON “.
