architecture

Exterior description

The chapel is built in baroque style, but the facade differs from the contemporary French rococo and follows a typical baroque pattern. At the corners of the nave there are pilasters in a monumental Ionic order on plinths . Above the over-proportionate entrance, which is flanked by two windows with diagonal metal struts, the facade shows a richly decorated, blown-up gable field , here is a representation of the Mother of God . A round lantern with volute decorations crowns the central chapel.

A simpler sacristy is attached , but it takes up the baroque decorative elements of the chapel. A five-step staircase leads from the street to a small forecourt located higher up, which is separated from the street by a wall.

Inside description

The eponymous altar painting is dated to the time the chapel was built. It is an imitation of a representation from Valencia in eastern Spain .

In the chapel the relics of St. Innocent venerated.
