Kapytoliwka has been part of the rural municipality of Oskil since October 2017 and was previously an independent district council in Isjum Rajon , which also included the village of Dibrowa ( Діброва , ⊙ ) with around 350 inhabitants.
The village is located at an altitude of 106 m , 6 km west of the Oskil community center , 8 km east of the Isjum district center and 130 km southeast of the Kharkiv oblast center .
In Kapytolivka is the St. Barbara's Church, built between 1819 and 1823 at the expense of Lieutenant General Pyotr Stepanowitsch Kotlyarevsky ( Пётр Степанович Котляревский ; 1782-1851) in the classicist style. The church, which was used as a warehouse during the Soviet era, was consecrated and restored again after Ukraine's independence.
