Karacho is the tenth studio album by the Ibbenbüren band Donots . It was released on February 20, 2015 via the band's own label Solitary Man Records .
Story / style
Karacho is the Donots' first studio album after more than 20 years of band history, which was sung entirely in German. The band got the inspiration for this in 2013 on their USA tour with Flogging Molly . It was originally planned to release only one EP with German songs for the 20th anniversary . During the song recording phase, the band decided to produce an album instead of an EP.
In contrast to its predecessor Wake the Dogs , the Donots, at Karacho, almost completely dispensed with electronic sprinkles. In general, the album moves as far as possible in the area of punk rock and alternative rock
criticism
The EMP record box wrote, for example: “With brain and heart you manage to give the great music a depth that you can only ask yourself one question: why in the world did the Donots not present German lyrics? "
Christian Wilsberg from Stormbringer wrote: Karacho has once again become an extremely varied album by one of the best rock bands from German-speaking countries. The German language suits the songs very well thanks to the excellent lyrical performance of front man Ingo Knollmann. "
The Donots competed in the 2015 Bundesvision Song Contest with the song Dann ohne Mich and took second place with 117 points.
