Ingo Knollmann
Ingo Knollmann (born August 14, 1976 in Ibbenbüren ), artist name Ingo Donot , is a German singer from Münster . He became known as the front man of the band Donots .
Knollmann grew up with two siblings in Ibbenbüren. After graduating from the Johannes Kepler high school, he began at the Westphalian Wilhelms University , a teaching degree for English . Due to the success of his band Donots, he gave up his studies in 1998 and devoted himself exclusively to music. Knollmann is also active as a comic artist.
In 2005 Knollmann founded his own record label Solitary Man Records in Japan with the aim of making European bands such as Beatsteaks and Muff Potter known there. After the GUN Records ( Sony BMG ) label had terminated the Donots record deal, Knollmann founded a German offshoot to release the Donots album Coma Chameleon .
At the end of 2010 Knollmann founded the band Schrappmesser together with the then Waterdown members Christian Kruse (guitar, bass, vocals) and Philipp Meyer (drums) . Schrappmesser play punk rock with humorous Low German texts and are supported by Ingo Knollmann's brother Guido during live performances.
In addition to his work as a singer, Knollmann also works as a producer for other bands. In 2006 he produced the Waterdown album All Riot .
