Karatia , also called Thoms Landing , is a small settlement in the Far North District of the Northland regionon the North Island of New Zealand .

geography

The settlement is located around 20 km southeast of Cape Reinga on New Zealand State Highway 1 . Closest settlements are Waitiki Landing in the north and Tangoake in the south. Katatia is west of the southern arm of Snipe Bay , which is a western arm of Parengarenga Harbor . The nearest major settlement is Te Kao and Kaitaia as the nearest town would be 85 km away.
