Karel De Wolf

Karel De Wolf (born August 27, 1952 in Popokabaka , Republic of the Congo (then still Belgian Congo), † February 23, 2011 in Leuven ) was a Belgian composer , conductor and musician .

At the age of 15 he began his music studies at the conservatory in Leuven , Belgium . In 1977 he completed his studies in Leuven in the subjects of music education , harmony , counterpoint and choral direction with honors. Then he studied violin , piano , trombone and tuba at the same institute . He then studied fugue and wind orchestra direction at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels .

After completing his studies, he became a lecturer in harmony at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven, Belgium, and conducted the wind orchestra of this institution.
