Kari Arkivuo (born June 23, 1983 in Lahti ) is a Finnish football player .

Career

societies

Kari Arkivuo began his career at FC Kuusysi for which he was active in youth. He played for the FC Lahti youth team until 2000. The following year, Arkivuo played his first full professional season after making his debut against Inter Turku at the start of the season . The defender played regularly for the eight-time Finnish champions in the following seasons. With the team he reached the cup final in 2002 which was lost to Haka Valkeakoski . After a total of five seasons in which Arkivuo played 101 times in Veikkausliiga , he moved to Sandefjord Fotball in Norway. In his second year with Sandefjord, he was relegated from the Tippeligaen , and played another season in the Adeccoligaen which ended with the direct resurgence. After three seasons in which he came to 71 league appearances, he moved to the Netherlands. He signed a contract with the second division Go Ahead Eagles Deventer . In July 2010 he again signed a new contract with the Swedish club BK Häcken from Gothenburg .

National team

Kari Arkivuo made his debut in the Finnish national team in November 2005 in the game against Estonia which ended 2-2. Before that, he had already been used 15 times between 2002 and 2005 in the U-21 . With the national team of his home country he took part in the Baltic Cup 2012 in Estonia. In the final, he and the team lost to Latvia in the decisive penalty shoot-out .
