Karim Olowu
Karim Olowu ( Karim Ayinla Babalola Olowu; born June 7, 1924 in Lagos ; † August 14, 2019 there ) was a Nigerian long jumper and sprinter .
At the British Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 he reached the semifinals over 100 yards and was sixth in the long jump.
In 1952 he was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Helsinki over 100 m and in the long jump in the preliminary round and reached the semi-finals with the Nigerian team in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1954 he won silver in the long jump at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver and with the Nigerian 4-by-110-yard relay. He failed over 100 yards in the lead.
At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he was fifth in the long jump, at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 he came in 14th place.
He set his personal best in the long jump of 7.54 m in 1956.
