Karin E. Blumberger-Sauerteig (born April 3, 1945 ) is a German diplomat and was ambassador to Cameroon , Equatorial Guinea and the Central African Republic from 2008 to 2010 .

biography

After graduating from high school , she studied history and Romance philology between 1964 and 1971 .

In 1973 she joined the diplomatic service and worked in the protocol and the political department of the Foreign Office during her attaché training from 1973 to 1976 . This was followed by a job as an economic officer at the embassy in Nigeria and then from 1979 to 1982 as a press officer at the embassy in Rome. After her return to Germany she was again a member of the protocol of the Federal Foreign Ministry, before she was economic advisor at the embassy in Hungary from 1985 to 1988. This was followed by a position as a press officer at the embassy in Canada and from 1991 to 1994 again in the political department of the Foreign Office.

After participating in a one-year exchange at the Italian Foreign Ministry , she was the Ambassador's Permanent Representative to Denmark between 1995 and 1999 .

In 1999 Mrs. Blumberger-Sauerteig became an ambassador to the Ivory Coast . At the same time, she was also accredited in Liberia and Niger until the end of this activity and replacement by Marius Haas in 2002 .

After working again at the Federal Foreign Ministry, she was ambassador to Zimbabwe between 2004 and 2008 . Albrecht Conze was the successor to this post .

From 2008 to 2010 was Karin Blumberger sourdough, to replace the retiring came Volker Seitz Ambassador to Cameroon . She is also accredited as ambassador to Equatorial Guinea and the Central African Republic.
