List of German ambassadors in Ivory Coast

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Republic of Germany established a diplomatic mission in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire even before it gained official independence. This was set up on December 14, 1959 as a branch of the consulate in Dakar . On the day the former Ivory Coast gained independence, the branch was upgraded to an embassy. It is still located in the seat of government in Abidjan today .
The GDR did not establish official diplomatic relations with the Ivory Coast until October 5, 1984. In the absence of a separate embassy in Abidjan, official business was carried out by the GDR ambassador in Lagos , Nigeria .
