List of German ambassadors in South Africa

The list of German ambassadors in South Africa contains all chargées of the German Reich and the Federal Republic of Germany in South Africa . An ambassador as chargé d'affaires was first sent in 1955, previously consuls general, ambassadors extraordinary or ministers plenipotentiary. The ambassador is also responsible for Eswatini (formerly Swaziland ) and Lesotho . The current headquarters of the embassy is in Pretoria . Before 1928 the seat of the Consulate General was Cape Town .
