Karin Friberg (born November 17, 1989 ) is a former American ski jumper .

Career

Friberg, who started for the Saint Paul Ski Club, made her international debut on July 21, 2006 as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , the highest class in women's ski jumping at the time. In the first two competitions in Park City , she was the 24th to win Continental Cup points. However, she could not repeat this result in her first competitions in Europe, in Pöhla and Meinerzhagen . Friberg did not start in the winter of 2006/07. In Lake Placid in August 2007 she won points again, as did in Park City in September.

In February 2008 she made her winter debut and remained well behind the world's best in Breitenberg . In Baiersbronn and Schönwald in the Black Forest , too , she did not make a breakthrough. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2008 in Zakopane , she jumped from the normal hill to 29th place in the singles. In August 2008, after the debacle in winter , she managed to win points again in the mat jumping in Bischofsgrün .

For the 2008/09 season , Friberg also won points for the first time in winter jumping. Already in December 2008 she reached a top 30 placement in three of four competitions in Park City and Vancouver . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2009 in Štrbské Pleso she was 32nd at the end of the normal hill. Only one day later she achieved the best individual result of her career in the Continental Cup in 19th place in the jumping in Zakopane. It was also her last place in the points. In the end, she finished 55th overall.

As a result, Friberg was no longer able to improve its performance. In addition, she did not win any more points until the 2010/11 season, which is why she ended her international career with a fourth place in the FIS jumping competition in Lake Placid in October 2011 after breaking off the 2010/11 season in December 2010.
