Karin H. Veit (* 1948 in Vienna , Austria ) was the artistic director of the Celle Castle Theater .

After graduating from the Humanistic Gymnasium in Vienna, Karin H. Veit studied theater studies, art history, philosophy and psychology (degree: Magister artium ). This was followed by a first engagement as a dramaturge at the Stadttheater Salzburg (three-division house). Further stations of her work were Hamburg , Zurich , Frankfurt am Main . She also worked for the “ Konzertdirektion Landgraf ” (focus: acting). Her last engagement before the artistic director in Celle was from 1994 to 1998 at the Schauspiel Frankfurt (artistic director: Prof. Peter Eschberg ) in the function of the director's personal assistant with a deputy position. From 1998 until her resignation in March 2008 she was the artistic director of the Schlosstheater Celle.

Veit's program, which is based on the touring theater of the 70s and 80s in terms of both content and aesthetics, met with a high level of acceptance from the mostly older Celle subscribers, but the Schlosstheater could neither attract new groups of visitors nor achieve a national appeal. While the manager's management style had repeatedly led to differences in-house for a long time, there was also a scandal with the sponsoring association in 2008 when she described its chairman as "office stallion" and "proletarian" who "had no idea about theater". The mayor of Celle described this as an “unworthy style”, the press speculated about the imminent “kicking out” of the general manager, who wanted to prevent the renovation of the Celle castle theater with her behavior.

On March 12, 2008, Karin H. Veit was given notice of termination without notice.

Karin H. Veit is married to the theater photographer and photo journalist Stefan Ódry .
