Karin Mathes

Karin Mathes (born January 22, 1955 in Kassel ) is a Bremen politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and member of the Bremen Parliament .

Life

education and profession

Karin Mathes volunteered at the age of 16, initially as a trainer in artificial cycling . After graduating from high school, Karin studied Mathes and completed her studies as a graduate mathematician and received her doctorate. rer. nat. She completed her habilitation in ecology. From 1979 to 1981 she was a mathematics tutor at the University of Kassel and a research assistant at the Kassel University and in 1981 mentor at the Hagen Distance Learning University . Between 1982 and 1993 she was a research assistant in various projects at the University of Bremen and from 1994 to 1996 research assistant at the Center for Environmental Research and Environmental Technology at the University of Bremen. From 1994 to 1997 she was the head of the working group "Theory in Ecology" of the Society for Ecology . Her research and teaching activities focused on biostatistics, theory in ecology, ecological risk assessment of chemicals and genetically modified organisms. She is currently a private lecturer in the field of ecology. In 1994 she was awarded the Berninghausen Prize for excellent teaching and innovation .

Karin Mathes participated in a wide variety of university self-administration bodies. In May 2010 she was in Bremen on the advisory boards of the local neighborhoods Schwachhausen and Vahr to new local office manager of the local office Schwachhausen / Vahr selected. However, she was not appointed until June 14, 2011.

In 1989 Mathes joined the Green Party. From 1991 to 1995 she was a member of the Schwachhausen Advisory Board for her party and in 1993/1994 a member of the state board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen.

From 1999 to 2011 she was a member of the Bremen Parliament. In 2004 she became a member of the board of the Bremen citizenship as vice-president. Between 2009 and taking office as head of the local office, she was, alongside Susan Ella-Mittrenga, spokesperson for the board of the regional association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Bremen.

She was represented in the citizenship in the works committees Performa Nord and Umweltbetrieb Bremen, in the committees for the facilitation of popular legislation and further development of the electoral law budget and finance, auditing and in the constitution and rules of procedure committee as well as in the deputation for environment and energy.

Her political priorities are environmental , energy , agricultural and consumer protection policy .
