Karin Preisendanz

Karin Preisendanz (born January 6, 1958 in Heidelberg ) is a German Indologist .

Life

She received the Dr. phil. at the University of Hamburg and in 1995 the habilitation and the venia legendi in Hamburg . From 1986 to 1987 she was a research assistant at Albrecht Wezler and from 1987 to 1990 at the Institute for Indian Philology and Art History at the Free University of Berlin . From 1990 to 1993 she was Assistant Professor for Hinduism and Buddhism at the Department of Asian Studies, University of British Columbia . From 1993 to 1999 she was research assistant C1 at the Institute for Culture and History of India and Tibet in Hamburg. Since 1999 she has been a professor of Indology at the University in Vienna .
