Karin Proia (born March 14, 1974 in Latina ) is an Italian actress and director .

life and career

Karin Proia was born in 1974 in Latina, 60 km south of Rome , in the Lazio region. She grew up in Borgo Podgora, also in Lazio. She studied music at the Conservatory Licinio Refice in Frosinone with a focus on piano . In Velletri , she completed an artistic education in ceramics at the Istituto Statale d'Arte Juana Romani .

Karin Proia showed her interest in directing and acting in courses at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and at the La Sapienza University . In 2006 she took a course in film editing .

Karin Proia made her debut as a stage actress in 1995 in the tragedy View from the Bridge by Arthur Miller . She also took part in an adaptation of the play that was filmed for television four years later. She mainly plays in Italian television productions. In the German-speaking world, she made her way through her roles as Maria in Die Kreuzritter - The Crusaders from 2001 and Gina in the German-Italian coproduction Live better in Italian! from 2014 a name.

As a director, she made the short film Farfallina in 2008 , for which she also wrote the script . In 2013 she directed the play Palco a due piazze .

Karin Proia was married to fellow actor Raffaele Buranelli in 2002 , with whom she has a daughter.
