Karl-Heinz Braun (theologian)

Karl-Heinz Braun (born June 17, 1955 in Karlsruhe ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and church historian .

Life

Braun studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Universities of Freiburg and Würzburg from 1974 to 1979 . In 1983 he was in Freiburg to priests ordained and received his doctorate from the University of Freiburg 1986th From 1996 to 2007 he was Professor of Church History in the Middle Ages and Modern Times at the Catholic Theological University in Linz . In 2000 he received his habilitation at the University of Freiburg. Braun has been Professor of Medieval and Modern Church History at the University of Freiburg since 2007. He is a signatory of the Church 2011 Memorandum : A Necessary Departure .
