Karl-Heinz Breuker

Karl-Heinz Breuker (* 15. February 1939 in Hattingen ; † 29. November 2012 in Erkelenz ) was a German doctor for gynecology , obstetrics and perinatal medicine .

Live and act

Breuker studied medicine at the Universities of Münster , Vienna and Freiburg . After working at the Pathological Institute of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf , he worked for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the University of Cologne from 1969 . From 1981 he taught at the University of Cologne, where he was appointed temporary professor in 1984 and adjunct professor in 1987. From 1986 to 2004 he was also chief physician at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Hermann Josef Hospital in Erkelenz.

Main areas of teaching and research have been computer-aided monitoring of fetal heart rate, problems with twin pregnancies and births, and chromosomal abnormalities in habitual miscarriages. He published numerous scientific articles in relevant specialist journals.

Breuker was active in the German section of the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy.
