Karl-Heinz Schrey

Karl-Heinz Schrey (born May 28, 1945 ) is a former German automobile racing driver .

Career

Karl-Heinz Schrey began touring car racing in the early 1970s .

In 1972 and 1973 he entered the 2nd division of the German Racing Championship (DRM) with a BMW 2002 . In his second DRM season, he finished fifth in the race in Kassel-Calden and thus achieved his best race result in the championship. In the previous race in Mainz-Finthen he was able to place eighth. He finished the race at the Nürburgring for the Rhineland-Palatinate Prize in 15th place. In the 1973 championship, Schrey came in 24th overall with eleven points.

He also competed in various non-championship races and was able to win a race in Zolder in 1973 with a Porsche 914/6 . In the 1979 ADAC Super Sprint race on the Nürburgring, he achieved second place in a VW Golf in the group 1 to 1600 cm³ behind the class winner Heinz-Friedrich Peil .

From 1986 until his retirement in 1989 , Karl-Heinz Schrey competed in the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup . There he was able to record his best overall results in 1986 and 1988 with ninth place each.

In 1994 he drove with Wagner Racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany . Then he ended his active motorsport career.
