Karl-Heinz Vehring (born July 18, 1935 in Klosterholte , Emsland district ) is a German administrative lawyer , most recently senior city director of Lingen .

Life

Karl-Heinz Vehring was born the second youngest of nine children. He put his matriculation examination in 1956 at the Gymnasium Meppen , and took up the study of law and political science at the universities in the summer semester 1956 Münster and Freiburg on. His first state law examination took place in January 1960, the second in January 1964 after 3.5 years of legal traineeship. He then worked as a court assessor at the Bückeburg public prosecutor's office until July 31, 1964, and then from August 1, 1964 to February 28, 1965 as a government assessor at the regional cultural administration in Meppen . On March 1, 1965, he was hired by the city ​​of Lingen (Ems) as city councilor, while at the same time transferring the role of general representative of the city ​​director . On December 1, 1966, he was unanimously elected City Director of Lingen (Ems) for the period from June 1, 1967 to May 31, 1979 . Due to the change of status of the city of Lingen on August 1, 1977 (Lingen became a large independent city), he was given the title of Oberstadtdirektor and on July 6, 1978, without dissenting votes, for the period from June 1, 1979 to May 31, 1991 and again on September 7, 1978 Re-elected June 1, 1990 for the period June 1, 1991 to May 31, 2003. He finished his service with the city of Lingen at the age of 65 on April 30, 2000. Karl-Heinz Vehring was made an honorary citizen of the city of Lingen (since May 1, 2000). In 2009 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
