At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he was seventh.
In 1955 , 1956 and 1959 he was German champion . He set his personal best of 17.49 m on October 13, 1958 in Warsaw .
Karl-Heinz Wegmann started for the Dortmund SC 95 and was an electrician by profession .
