Karl-Heinz Zimmermann

Karl-Heinz Zimmermann (born December 31, 1956 in Bayreuth ) is a computer science professor at the Technical University of Hamburg .

Zimmermann studied computer science and mathematics at the University of Erlangen , received his doctorate there in 1987 in theoretical computer science with Horst Müller and habilitated in mathematics in 1994 at the University of Bayreuth with Adalbert Kerber . He was a Fulbright fellow at Princeton University with Sun-Yuan Kung , Heisenberg fellow at the University of Karlsruhe with Thomas Beth and visiting professor at Cornell and Princeton Universities . Zimmermann works in the field of algebra , in particular he deals with networking to machine learning and coding theory . He is the associate editor of several academic journals. He has published more than 120 scientific articles. His Erdős number is 3.
