Karl-Johan Westberg (born December 9, 1992 ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Westberg started in the Scandinavian Cup for the first time in 2009 and achieved his first top 10 placement in the sprint in Jõulumäe in March 2013 with rank ten. In the World Cup , Westberg made his first appearance in March 2014 in Lahti , where he did not qualify for the sprint final as 36th in qualification. In February 2015 he finished 77th in his second World Cup appearance over 15 km freestyle in Östersund , before finishing fourth in the sprint at the Scandinavian Cup in Jõulumäe a few days later. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , Westberg started at the Nordic Opening in Ruka , which he finished 76th overall. In December 2015 he achieved his first podium finish in the Scandinavian Cup with second place in the sprint in Vuokatti . The following month he became the Swedish sprint champion. At the World Cup in Lahti in February 2016, he scored his first World Cup points with 27th place in the sprint. After second place in the sprint at the Scandinavian Cup in Lahti in the 2016/17 season, he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup in Toblach with second place in the team sprint together with Oskar Svensson . At the beginning of February 2017 he finished second in the sprint at the Swedish championships. In the 2017/18 season he took 61st place in the Ruka Triple and 53rd place in the World Cup final in Falun . The following season he finished 69th in the Lillehammer Triple, 38th in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 and 33rd in the World Cup final in Québec, and at the end of the season he finished 66th in the overall World Cup. In the 2019/20 season he finished 30th in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 and 27th in the ski tour, and was 64th in the overall World Cup.
