In addition to his work as a stonemason, Böke acquired metallurgy techniques from 1959 onwards. In the 1960s, Böke worked with steel structures in the form of a room ensemble, and especially in the 1970s as a tin caster . From the end of the 1970s, Böke went his own way with his “stone rooms” with forms from nature and architecture. In most of his works, however, people are portrayed themselves, be it realistic or idealizing. Among his figurative sculptures and large sculptures, monuments and portraits, his bronze figures became widely known:

  • "Peterke Janßen de Boer", Emden (1986)
  • "Jantje Vis", fisher girl at Delft, Emden (1986)
  • "Coming and Going", two female nudes, Leer (1987)
  • "Das Postpaket", woman with a package, Soltau (1988)
  • Menorah candlestick, Weener (1990)
  • "Törfwiefkes", group of figures in Weener (1990)
  • "Teelke" and "Meerwiefke" in Leer (1991 and 1992)
  • "Störtebeker", monument in Marienhafe (1992)
  • "Playing children", group of figures in Borkum (1995)

The Karl Ludwig Böke Society took over the estate, which has been exhibited in the Böke Museum in Leer since 2000.
