Karl Adolf Huber (born June 28, 1811 in Wädenswil ; † April 29, 1889 there , reformed , resident in Wädenswil) was a Swiss politician .

biography

Karl Adolf Huber was born on June 28, 1811 as the son of the land clerk Hans Jakob Huber in Wädenswil. Huber initially received private lessons in Stäfa . He then attended legal lectures at the Carolinum and the University of Zurich , until he finally completed his law degree in Heidelberg .

As a result he was employed as a district court clerk in Horgen from 1831 to 1856 . Danacb Huber worked as a state clerk until 1861 . He was a member of the Cantonal Council from 1850 to 1874 and of the Zurich Government Council from 1861 to 1869 . In addition, Huber took a seat on the National Council from 1849 to 1863 .

As a privateer , Karl Adolf Huber lost most of his fortune in speculation on the stock market , whereupon he again took over the office of district judge, in 1875 a district court president. Of the liberal circle around Alfred Escher , Huber was closest to the Democrats. Karl Adolf Huber was the initiator of the Zurich Municipal Law from 1866.

He was married in his first marriage from 1836 to Sophie, the daughter of the district judge from Wädenswil Hans Heinrich Blattmann, and his second marriage from 1860 to Maria Elisabeth, born Dietrich from Gampelen . Karl Adolf Huber died on April 29, 1889, two months before he would turn 78 in Wädenswil.
