Karl Albert von Schott (born May 13, 1840 in Stuttgart ; † February 21, 1911 there ) was a Württemberg officer and battle painter .

Life

Karl Albert Schott was born as the child of the landlord Eduard Saladin Schott (1812–1887) and his wife Maria Antonia Weyland (1816–1900). He had five siblings, including the Benedictine Anselm Schott (1843-1896) and the opera singer Anton Schott (1846-1913).

He served as an officer in the Württemberg Army and took part in the campaigns of 1866 and 1870/71 , most recently as a lieutenant colonel and battalion commander in infantry regiment No. 124 .

On October 24, 1877, Schott married Maria Anna Agnes Franck (1849–1911), daughter of the Grand Ducal Hessian State Councilor Heinrich von Franck in Darmstadt.

After retiring from the army, he took private painting lessons from Anton Braith in Munich from 1888 . As a painter he remained true to his original profession and mainly painted battle pictures.
