Karl Axmacher
Karl Axmacher (born June 2, 1874 in Düsseldorf ; † 1952 there ) was a German painter .
Life
Axmacher was the second oldest child of Hugo Axmacher (1843–1934) and his wife Wilhelmine Caroline (1842–1909). After attending secondary school (1880–1889), he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy (1890–1897) with Heinrich Lauenstein , Hugo Crola , Peter Janssen and Adolf Schill and then continued his education in Brussels (1898) and Paris (1905). His preferred genre was the portrait .
