Karl Burger (born June 15, 1872 in Lingolsheim , Erstein district, † June 14, 1946 in Strasbourg ; French Charles Burger ) was a lawyer and member of the second chamber of the Landtag of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine .

Karl Burger he was the son of Martin Burger (* 1833) and his wife Madeleine nee Antoni (* 1837). He married Marie-Madeleine Caroline nee Pfersdorff (born February 15, 1879 in Strasbourg) on ​​September 13, 1920 in Strasbourg.

Karl Burger, the Protestant denomination was attended elementary school, the Protestant school in Strasbourg and studied in Strasbourg, Geneva, Leipzig and Berlin law . He worked as a lawyer in Strasbourg.

In the first (and only) election to the Landtag, he ran in the Strasbourg II constituency as a candidate for the Alsatian Progressive Party . In the first ballot, 4,163 votes were cast in the constituency of the 5,125 eligible voters. Burger accounted for 1,804, the Social Democrat Meyer 1,642, the center candidate Dr. Didio 493 and on the candidate Herring 174 votes. In the second ballot, Burger was the only candidate and received 3,334 out of 3,616 votes. Karl Burger was a member of the state parliament until 1918.

Karl Burger was a candidate for the Reichstag for constituency 8 of the Reichsland Alsace Lorraine (city of Strasbourg) in the Reichstag election in 1907 , but was defeated by the SPD candidate Bernhard Böhle .

In the interwar period he was President of the Strasbourg Bar Association, and from 1941 to 1944 during the German occupation he was a member of the city council.
