Karl Christian Birkel

Karl Christian Birkel (born December 3, 1904 in Schorndorf ; † May 13, 1992 in Endersbach ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

Karl Christian Birkel was the grandson of Balthasar Stephan Birkel, who founded a mill and product trade in Schorndorf in 1874. The foundation stone for the first pasta factory was laid there in 1896. In 1902 the first noodles came on the market under the name Victoria . After Karl Christian Birkel had completed a commercial apprenticeship, he joined the family business Schwabennudelwerke B. Birkel Söhne in Endersbach in 1929 , where he was given management responsibility in 1944.

He also founded egg pasta factories with his brother Theodor in Buxtehude and Schwelm .

In addition to his entrepreneurial activity, Karl Christian Birkel took on tasks as chairman of the Federal Association of the German Pasta Industry and Vice-President of the Association of Associations of the Pasta Industry in the EEC .

Karl Christian Birkel was married. With his wife Gertrud, he had three sons, namely the 1973 deceased Diplomkaufmann Heinz-Dieter, Peter and later CEO Klaus Birkel . His brother was Theodor Birkel. Karl Christian Birkel died in 1992 at the age of 87.
