Karl Ferdinand Klimsch (born May 26, 1841 in Frankfurt am Main ; † December 6, 1926 there ) was a German lithographer , landscape painter and entrepreneur. He came from the Klimsch family of artists and entrepreneurs in Frankfurt and formed the company Klimsch & Co, which is known worldwide in the printing industry, from his father Ferdinand Karl Klimsch's lithography workshop .

Karl Ferdinand Klimsch comes from a Frankfurt artist and entrepreneurial family. After finishing school, he was trained in Munich by the painter and professor at the art academy there , Karl Raupp . From 1864 he lived again in Frankfurt and took over the management of the family business after his older brother Eugen Johann Georg Klimsch preferred an artistic career. Karl Ferdinand Klimsch expanded the company, now under the name Klimsch & Co , as a national graphics publishing house and printing company. When he was active, the company began manufacturing printing forms. The production of these printing forms marked the beginning of the success story of Klimsch & Co as the world market leader for analogue reproduction technology in printing. After other family members were included in the up-and-coming company, Karl Ferdinand Klimsch retired from the company's management in 1895 and devoted himself to painting.

On May 27, 1865, Karl Ferdinand Klimsch married Maria Dorothea Louise Burkard (* August 9, 1842, † February 5, 1922) in Frankfurt am Main. The couple had five children:

  • Hermann Anton (* July 18, 1867; † 1960)
  • Frederike Dorothea (* May 28, 1869 - March 14, 1921)
  • Eugen (September 8, 1872 - May 6, 1945)
