Karl Gustav Rudolf Reinicke , from 1872 von Reinicke (* July 30, 1820 in Köpenick , † November 3, 1886 in Kassel ) was royal Prussian major general and most recently the commander of the 25th Infantry Brigade in Münster .

His parents were the Oberamtmann Karl Reinicke (* May 4, 1785 - April 2, 1844) and his wife Henriette Emilie Charlotte von Cranach (* February 20, 1799 - April 10, 1844).

Life

He first attended the city school in Driesen and then the grammar school in Gleiwitz . After graduating, he joined the 17th Infantry Regiment on February 11, 1838 as a fusilier. There he was appointed portepeef ensign on July 12, 1838 and second lieutenant on July 28, 1841. From April 1 to September 30, 1846 he was posted to the rifle factory in Saar. From May 11, 1848 to October 11, 1852 he was adjutant of the 2nd Battalion. During this time he took part in the street fighting in Iserlohn in 1849 and in the suppression of the revolution in Baden . He fought there in the skirmishes at Huttenheim, Waghäusel , Durlach, Bischweier and Kuppenheim; on March 10, 1853 he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant.
He came on May 1, 1854 as a company commander in the 7th Combined Reserve Battalion, on November 17, 1857 he was promoted to captain there. From June 21 to August 17, 1859 he was posted to the 28th Infantry Brigade, where he was company commander in the replacement battalion. On May 1, 1860, he came as a company commander in the 17th Combined Infantry Regiment, but on July 1, 1860, he was transferred to the 57th Infantry Regiment and on October 6, 1860, to Grenadier Regiment No. 12 . On April 18, 1865 he was transferred to the 28th Infantry Regiment as a major . During the German War , from May 22 to September 10, 1866, he was in command of the Cologne Occupation Battalion in the Luxembourg Fortress . Subsequently, on October 30, 1866 , he was transferred to the 7th Jäger Battalion as commander , where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 22, 1868. During the mobilization for the Franco-Prussian War he came on 23 August 1870 as a commander in the Fusilier Regiment No. 40 . He fought in the battles at Colombey , Gravelotte , Amiens , the Hallue , Bapaume and Saint-Quentin . He was also at the siege of Metz and the battles at Forbach and Tincourt. During this time he received the Iron Cross 2nd Class on September 6, 1870 . On January 18, 1871, he was promoted to colonel and on February 24, 1871, he was awarded the Iron Cross, 1st Class . In addition, on March 29, 1871, he was confirmed as commander of the Fusilier Regiment No. 40 for the peace relationship.

On April 27, 1872 he was raised to the Prussian nobility. He came on July 2, 1875 as a commander in the 25th Infantry Brigade and was assigned à la suite of the Fusilier Regiment. Promoted to major general on July 9, 1875, he was put up for retirement on September 15, 1876 and was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves . He died on November 3, 1886 in Kassel.

He married Emma Karoline Johanna Bonsac on April 28, 1849 in Wesel (March 1, 1830 - June 20, 1909). The couple had several children:
