Karl Hähnle (born April 10, 1888 in Giengen an der Brenz , † March 24, 1918 at Étricourt ) was a German classical archaeologist .

1897–1907 Hähnle attended the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and studied from 1907 to 1911 Classical Philology and Classical Archeology at the University of Tübingen . In 1911 and 1912 he passed the state exams for higher education. In 1912 and 1913 he took part in the excavations in Haltern under Friedrich Koepp and worked on the ceramic finds there. In the winter of 1913/14 he was able to undertake a study trip to Italy to study the terra sigillata , especially in Arezzo itself. On December 17, 1914 he was in Tübingen with Ferdinand Noack with the work Arretinische Reliefkeramik. A PhD contribution to the history of the ancient arts and crafts . He then worked as an academic assistant teacher at the Reformrealgymnasium in Stuttgart, and from 1915 to 1917 as a grammar school teacher in Öhringen . Hähnle was intended to lead the excavation in Haltern, but fell in France in 1918. Hans Dragendorff used the material he had collected for his book Arretinische Reliefkeramik (edited by Carl Watzinger , Tübingen 1948).
