Karl Haager

Karl Haager (born February 25, 1911 in Mannheim ; † July 3, 2008 in Karlsruhe (?)) Was a German lawyer . From 1955 to 1962 he was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice and then until 1979 a judge at the Federal Constitutional Court .

Life

After completing his legal training in 1936, Haager initially worked for the Baden and Württemberg judicial authorities. In 1938 he received his doctorate .

In the Second World War he took part as a soldier . After the end of the war he worked as a judge at the Higher Regional Court in Freiburg im Breisgau . In 1954 he was seconded to the Federal Ministry of Justice and in 1955 appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. From May 9, 1962 to May 7, 1979, he was a member of the First Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court because of his election by the Bundestag as the successor to Judge Gerhard Heiland . His successor was the judge Hermann Heussner .

In May 1979, Haager was awarded the Great Cross of Merit with Star and Shoulder Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
