Karl Hayo Siemsen

Karl Hayo Siemsen (born February 4, 1944 in Norden , East Friesland, † September 15, 2018 in Emden ) was a German systems theorist.

Life

Siemsen studied communications engineering and systems theory at the TH Karlsruhe until 1969, graduating as a graduate engineer, and then graduating from the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in the field of economics and social affairs.

Then he was appointed professor and founding dean for electrical engineering and computer science at the Ostfriesland University of Applied Sciences.

Siemsen began his research as a student of Joachim Thiele , who was commissioned by Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker to investigate the role of Ernst Mach in education. He retired in 2009 and continued to work as a didactic and methodologist with design and knowledge-oriented learning until his death.

Siemsen was awarded the title of Honorary Professor by the Romanian University of Tibiscus in 2012 for his research in the field of epistemology.
