Karl Heinrich Hugelmann

Karl Heinrich Hugelmann (born October 6, 1844 in Kecskemét ; † May 25, 1930 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer , statistician and historian .

Life

The son of a military doctor studied law at the University of Graz from 1862 to 1866 , earned his doctorate (1869) and his habilitation (1870/71). He taught as a private lecturer in statistics and political science at the University of Graz. From 1886 to 1918 Hugelmann was court advisor in the Imperial Court , at the same time he worked in the Central Statistical Commission. After the First World War he was a substitute member of the Constitutional Court from 1921 to 1926 . Like his son Karl Gottfried Hugelmann , Karl Heinrich Hugelmann combined national and Catholic engagement. Hugelmann's book on the Austrian state parliaments in 1848 is considered to be his main work.
