Karl Heinrich zu Waldburg

Karl Heinrich Erbtruchseß and Count zu Waldburg (* March 10, 1686 , † October 9, 1721 ) was an official in the Kingdom of Prussia. He is considered the first Upper President of East Prussia.

Life

He was the son of Joachim Heinrich Truchsess von Waldburg and Maria Eleonore, born von Heydeck (1649–1692). The Prussian Lieutenant General Friedrich Sebastian Wunibald Truchsess zu Waldburg was his brother. Karl Heinrich zu Waldburg was married to Katharina Petronella Countess Berchtold, Freiin zu Ungarschitz († March 1725).

As the caretaker of the Marienwerder office , Waldburg recognized the deep damage to the estate administration. In 1714 he presented the king with a memorandum on the necessary tax reform. Friedrich Wilhelm I (Prussia) then made him President of the War Commissioner in Königsberg . On March 21, 1720, Waldburg became the Prussian Chamber President and Real Privy Councilor . He connected the Presidium of the War Commissariat with that of the Domain Chamber. In this strong position he ran the rétablissement after the great plague . Exhausted from work and responsibility, he died at the age of 35. Minister Friedrich von Görne completed his work.
