Karl Jaroš

Karl Jaroš (born September 26, 1944 in Vienna ) is an Austrian theologian .

Life

Karl Jaroš studied philosophy , theology , Old Testament biblical studies and Arabic religious history in Linz , Graz , Freiburg im Üechtland and Jerusalem . In 1971 he obtained his Magister Theologiae from the University of Graz. Later, in 1973, he did his doctorate with the study The position of the Elohist on the Canaanite religion at the University of Freiburg in Üechtland .

In 1976 he completed his habilitation at the University of Graz with the thesis Sichem. An archaeological and religious-historical study with special consideration of Jos 24 . He has been teaching at the University of Vienna since 1977 . Between 1981 and 1986 he was the deputy director of the project collection and evaluation of the stamp seals found in Palestine / Israel during regular excavations as elements of a Palestinian / Israelite religious history .

Jaroš has been with Dr. Brigitte Jaroš-Deckert is married and has three children.
