Karl Lösche
Karl Lösche (born January 21, 1878 in Rudolstadt ; † August 11, 1964 in Dießen am Ammersee ) was a German sculptor .
Life
Lösche studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Balthasar Schmitt , with whom he also maintained a friendship. As a soldier in World War I , he was seriously wounded. In 1923 he took part in the march on the Feldherrnhalle and was later awarded the so-called " Blood Order ". In the Reichstag elections in 1933 he ran for the NSDAP in the Munich suburb of Solln , where he lived. In the same year he became a consultant in the Bavarian Ministry of Culture . He played a key role in the expulsion of the Munich Modernist architect Robert Vorhoelzer from the Technical University of Munich . From 1933 to 1945 he was professor of ceramics and sculpture in Munich. Karl Lösche is the father of the ceramicist Ernst Lösche . Artistically, Karl Lösche mainly devoted himself to stone carving.
