Großhartpenning is a parish village in Upper Bavaria and a district of the market wooden churches in the district of Miesbach in the district Großhartpenning .
Location and geography
Großhartpenning is 734 m high on the federal highway 13 from Holzkirchen to Bad Tölz , south of the Otterfinger Forest.
The village is surrounded by a chain of hills consisting of Herzberg, Kirchberg, Asberg, Kurzenberg and Schnitzberg. In this order, the individual hills form a continuous elevation around Großhartpenning from north to west to south-west, which is part of the still visible terminal moraine of the Isar-Loisach glacier from the Würm glacial period .
history
Hartpenning was first mentioned in a document in 804.
The name Hartpenning is derived from ad Hartbeningas = with the descendants of Benno am Wald .
Some finds show that Hartpenning was a transit station for Roman legions several times.
Later there was a strong argument as to whether Hartpenning and some of the surrounding areas should belong to the Tegernsee Monastery or to the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising .
Großhartpenning came to Markt Holzkirchen on May 1, 1978 through the incorporation of Hartpenning.
