Karl Lürtzing
Karl Lürtzing (born June 4, 1872 in Jüchsen / Sachsen-Meiningen, † September 27, 1911 in Erfurt ) was a German painter, fresco artist and etcher.
Karl Lürtzing studied from November 2, 1892 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Karl Raupp .
He became an employee of the magazine " Jugend " and created several front pages. Around 1900 he designed decorative initials - initials for the magazine "German Art and Decoration", which was published by the Alexander Koch publishing house in Darmstadt and Stuttgart.
He also worked as a fresco artist. In 1896 he took part in the painting of the main dome and the domed hall of the Bavarian Trade Museum in Nuremberg . 1896–1897 he also created wall paintings in the lecture hall.
In 1903 he painted frescoes in the conference room of the Nuremberg town hall , which were destroyed during the Second World War.
He died at the age of 39.
