Karl Lange (historian)

Karl Lange (born September 17, 1893 in Braunschweig ; † May 14, 1983 ibid) was a German school principal and historian .

Life

Lange studied German literature , history and philosophy and received his doctorate from the University of Göttingen in 1923 . In 1930 he completed his habilitation at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he was appointed adjunct professor in 1949. Since 1935 he was a member of the historical commission for Hanover, Oldenburg, Braunschweig, Schaumburg-Lippe and Bremen.

Lange headed the Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Braunschweig from 1950 to 1958 .
