Karl Lemke

Karl Lemke (born February 28, 1924 in Berlin ; † October 18, 2016 in Grimmen ) was a German artist and lived in Barth .

After training as a stonemason, Karl Lemke studied from 1948 to 1949 at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin-Charlottenburg with Gustav Seitz . Lemke continued his studies from 1950–1951 at the University of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin-Weißensee. From 1951 to 1953 he was a master student with Gustav Seitz at the Academy of Arts of the GDR and then worked as a freelance. From 1968 Lemke was first as a lecturer (until 1971) and later as a lecturer at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art (1971–1976).
