Karl Maka ( Chinese  麥嘉  /  麦嘉 , Pinyin Mài Jiā , Jyutping Mak 6 Gaa 1 , Cantonese  Karl Mak Ka , born as 麥嘉 尚  /  麦嘉 尚 , Mài Jiāshàng , Jyutping Mak 6 Gaa 1 soeng 6 , Cantonese  Mak Ka- Sheung , born February 29, 1944 in Taishan , Guangdong , China ) is a Hong Kong- born American actor , director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Maka is an actor primarily known in Asia, who also acted as a producer in some films. His trademarks are his appearance - bald head and goatee.

His best-known role is that of " Kodijack " in the action comedy series " Mad Mission " with Sam Hui , Sylvia Chang , and Dean Shek, with which he also became popular in Germany. In 1991 he also played alongside Sammo Hung in "Skinny Tiger - The fat man with a quick fist".

Maka has produced a long series of films, including 1987's Prison on Fire directed by Ringo Lam with Chow Yun Fat as the star.

From the year 2000 he largely withdrew from the film business. He made an exception for Sammo Hung in 2016 and played a small supporting role in his film The Bodyguard with Tsui Hark and Dean Shek.
