Karl Oberle (priest)

Karl Oberle (born November 4, 1874 in Pfaffen-Schwabenheim ; † September 21, 1942 in Bechtolsheim ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and local researcher.

Life

Karl Oberle attended grammar school and the seminary in Mainz , where he was ordained a priest on March 26, 1898 . On April 14, 1898 he was appointed chaplain of the St. Christoph parish in Mainz. From September 6, 1905, he worked for 5 years as a youth pastor in the apprentice house in Mainz. In 1905 he was a parish administrator for Worms-Pfeddersheim and -Herrnsheim for a short time .

On December 1, 1905, the parish of Bechtolsheim was transferred to him. He remained in this office until his death. In the 37 years of his activity in Bechtolsheim he collected material on the history of his place of work.

Since December 10, 1920 Oberle was also dean of the Deanery Alzey .
