Act

As the choir director of the Dresden court opera, Pembaur was one of Ernst von Schuch's most trusted employees . He raised the church music services of the court orchestra to an important rank. As a song and choir composer, he walked in the paths of his father. The best he had to say in his church music works, which, coming from Anton Bruckner , also incorporated stylistic elements from Max Reger and Impressionism . In numerous essays, Pembaur also dealt theoretically with the problems of modern church music.

Church music works:

  • Missa ( brevis ) in F op.10 (1902)
  • Missa ( solemnis ) in G op.14 (1909)
  • Christmas Mass op.18 (1914)
